Ohio
Renaissance Festival
Sept. 2001

The gates to Ohio Renaissance Festival Shire, Willy Nilly on the Wash....
'Tis wonderful to be back at faire. Ohio is a great faire, and the fall weather was perfect!
Queen Elizabeth calls to open the gates and greets her guests in her usual cheerful manner.
We meet up with some old friends...Dirk Perfect.....
...and Guido Crescendo of the Swordsmen.
We got to meet Adam Gordon later in the day. What a wonderful guy! We look forward to spending time with him again in the future. Now let's all look straight into the sun so we're nice and squinty for this pic!
We caught several shows of Craig of Farrington. A wandering minstrel/lutenist with a heart of gold. Make sure and check out his website...

He's such a funny guy and such a sweetheart. He always does Mary Mac and Starlover for me :-)
We met Tullamore for the first time. They are a great irish folk band. Their musical talents are as good as their personalities.
L to R:
Mary, Rachel, Mark and Amy
Mary Hanover has a beautiful alto voice and plays the whistles along with amazing everyone with her dulcimer. She's one of the sweetest ladies I've met at faire.
Amy Weeks was wonderful on the violin. She has a very shy sweet demeanor, but don't let that fool you...she can really play the fiddle with passion.

Amy , Rachel and Mark
Bottom:
Amy and Mary play a tune together.
We met up with Adam again a little later in the day and tried to get a pic of us NOT staring directly into the sun...I think we may need help in this endeavor ;)
Now ladies....the beginnings of the Man in Garb section.
This yummy man was definitley the hottie of faire, but I fear his seemed arrogance and self obsession took away from the outer package.
Sir Francis Drake (middle) and Robin the pirate a.k.a. "The Cute One" (right) are 2 of the finest men in garb of the Ohio Shire.
But I have to be bias and say He Who is Still Chris wins the Man in Garb award for the day. ;-)
I knew my sister was supposed to be there, but it wasn't until close to the end of the day before we met up with her.
My sister, Dina, and her son, Gehrid.
Our friend Suzy with her daughter, Isabella.
My darling nephew, Gehrid the pirate. Isn't he just the cutest darn thing!?!?
I can usually be found watching 8 Hands Round at the maypole...
I love the dancing and the music.
More dancing and music...
Chris enjoys the wenches at the well...especially the wet washer wenches :-)
Minstrels and wenches gather on the street for some singing.
