This was my first taste of a barleywine, and I suppose it was okay. Just imagine regular wine without any grapey taste, and add a hint of hops. That's what this tasted like. It was okay, but I cannot imagine having more than one in an evening.

(bottle) Clear dark copper. A lighter aroma that I was expecting; mostly of malts and caramel. The flavor is quite dry and it finishes more like an IPA than anything else. They're calling this a barleywine, but there's none of the weirdness that I usually associated with that style. Decent is all I can say.

(bottle) Clear medium-dark amber. No head, some fizz. Aroma of malt and dried hops. Flavor of burnt malt and stale hops. Quite fucking disgusting. I only took a few sips before giving up. LIfe's too short to waste drinking beer like this.

(bottle) Hazy brown. Minimal head. Strong alcohol aroma, with some malts and dark fruits as well. Flavor fairly well balanced. A bit of an alcohol burn, but not too bad. No barley wine weirdness, so that's cool.

(draft) Almost black with a nice tan head. Fruity aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Tastes like a Belgian quad to me, so, it's good. Especially once the weird finish went away.

(draft) Clear amber in color. No head at all. Zero. Smells a little bit like laundry detergent, of all things. Mounthfeel is meduim syrupy. The flavor is a little weird to me - as with all barleywines. There is a noticeable alcohol burn at the finish. Decent.

(draft) Clear dark copper-colored. Decent head and lacing. A dry fruit aroma and flavor. The alcohol is hidden very well. Pretty damn good.

(bottle) Cloudy light brown with a smallish tan head. Light aroma of oak and malts. Chewy mouthfeel. Light flavor with a little smoke and malts. Alcohol burn is fairly prevalent. Decent, though not as good as I'd hoped.

(bottle) The color of flat cola. No head. Aroma of malts and molasses. Medium mouthfeel. Fairly biting flavor of molasses and dark-roasted malts. Tastes like a barleywine to me. A good beer, but not a great one.

(bottle) Hazy reddish amber. No appreciable head. Aroma of molasses and dark fruits. Flavor of dark fruits, with a noticeable alcohol bite. Very dry finish. Only decent, but barleywines aren't my favorites to begin with, so this is as good as any.

(draft) Hazy brown. No head. Creamy mouthfeel. Aroma and flavor of malts and molasses. Slightly metallic finish. A decent beer. A little too barelywiney for my tastes.
