This one kind of blows, but it's better than the one it replaces.

I'll probably give this some major tweaking, but it took so damn long to render that I don't feel like messing with it anymore tonight.

As usual, this is nothing like it looked inside my head.

These days every time I make one it reminds me of one I've already made.

I guess you could say I'm in a rut.

Okay, I took all of the orphaned images and moved them into a new gallery.

That was 15 minutes of my life I'd like to have back.

What a dumbass.

When I redid the site layout - specifically when I switched to a two-column layout - I had to shrink all of my CGI galleries from 15 down to 12 images each so the thumbnail bar would fit on a page.

In my haste, however, I forgot to tell the images that they were being reshuffled.

Without getting too technical, I've managed to take one-fifth of all of my favorite images and make them virtually inaccessible except via the cumbersome All Images page.

I can't correct this until I get home.

A new image made last night that took over 18 hours to render for some reason.

I've noticed that my last several images have been of a similar theme. What I don't know is whether they're supposed to represent a journey towards something or away from it.

Alternatively it could just be that I'm finally developing a more realistic sense of scale and distance in my renderings.

Playing with the Terragen Strata plugin and made this one.

I like this image. I think it can be a lot better than it is. Maybe it should just apply itself instead of being so lazy all the time.

On a related note - I've got so many images now that I'm finding it harder and harder to find one to eliminate before I can put a new image in one of the three Terragen galleries. I really need to start thinking about adding a fourth - and maybe a fifth - gallery for Terragen images.

Today I saw an image that used Terragen's "glow" feature in a way I'd never even thought of before.

I copied the style and made this:

I actually did this one yesterday, but my hosting company has been sucking lately so I couldn't upload anything until this evening.

Just a quick image I made using an interesting terrain file that one of the Terragen gurus posted.

Spending my vacation day listening to the rain hit my skylights I just couldn't stand it anymore so I decided to kill some time making a new Terragen image.

I also updated an old image, raising the water level to add a little more detail.

I was playing with DarkTree and Bryce this evening and made my first image for 2004.

A new Terragen image, not sure how to describe it.

Also, I've rerendered an older image. I like the new version a little better than the original which I seem to have lost.

The images I create never end up looking the want I imagine them when I first start out.

Case in point - this new image was way cooler in my head than the way Vue D'Esprit rendered it.

I continue to play with Bryce, and some interesting new skies that I've downloaded, so I'm able to push another crappy image out of gallery 5 and replace it with a less crappy one.

Over the past few days I've been playing with Terragen a lot, and have managed to crank out three more images that I think are worthy of posting.

The one of the right is probably the best one I've ever done.

After a long hiatus I've made another Terragen image. It's certainly nothing special except that I think the sky looks pretty cool.
